welcome to the year 2011. this is my first update this year. december was a busy month, and i neglected to update. i’ll now try to return to my normal schedule.
this past saturday, i lit rubblebucket at the double door. it was a long night, as there were five bands, but it was still fun. here is a picture of indigo sun, a band that played after them.
this past wednesday, kyle from k lite productions and i teamed up and provided lighting for the band elev8tor at double door. the results were spectacular. i was especially excited because i was able to see the E Spots perform alongside of the Irradiant OBY-3 fixtures, which utilize a 250 watt discharge lamp (and are actually very efficient). i was quite pleased to find that the output from the 90 watt LED appears nearly identical to the 250 watt discharge lamp in a “real world” comparison. here is a preview:

you can find more images from this event here, as i have now added a galleries section. please have a look. the link at the top of the page will take you to photo albums from other events i’ve done. i’ll continue to upload more as i find the time, so stay tuned!
well, i must admit, i neglected to take any photos of the shows i did this weekend. my bad. not a big problem, however, as i have plenty in iPhoto that i can share. i shall select one now. have a look:

i should also mention that double door has uploaded a number of pictures from last week’s show into their photo blog. please take a look.
i am pretty stoked to be lighting nitzer ebb at double door (again) this coming saturday (2010/11/20).
one of the things i really like about the E Spots is that the color red is very visible. with a red filter in, the output seemed to get lost in some of the other fixtures i’ve worked with – i’m guessing because discharge lamps typically output less in that region of the spectrum.
just for fun, here’s my first attempt at a video attachment…enjoy…
arunas, the manager at darkroom, has me “reserved” the last friday of every month. i worked there this past thursday and friday. these were the first shows i did at darkroom with the E Spot LED fixtures. the following picture summarizes the results.
